What is the LVS9000?

The Linksys Voice System (LVS 9000) is an inexpensive, feature-rich multi-line VoIP telephone system that uses the Internet to save money on calls and provide sophisticated communication services to small business users. The LVS 9000 Product Family is a line of IP communication solutions including desktop IP phones, an IP-PBX and PSTN gateway. The LVS 9000 uses the power of VoIP and the Internet to provide big business telephony features to Home Office/Small Office (SOHO) and Small Businesses.

What are the main features of the LVS 9000?

The LVS 9000 can support business class features including, Auto Attendant, Call Transfer, Call Parking, Intercom, Paging, Single and Multi-Line Phones with Graphical Display, Multi-party Conference Calls, Call Hunt Groups, Shared Lines, Call Forwarding and  Voicemail.

Is the LVS9000 right for my business?

Many small businesses have a business grade broadband internet connection currently used only for web and e-mail services. Defining Technology, Inc. will work with you to quickly and easily install an LVS 9000 solution and start enjoying the advantages of VoIP immediately.

How many phones will the LVS 9000 support?

The base LVS 9000 system allows for four (4) lines to place or receive calls. The LVS 9000 can be expanded via an optional upgrade key to provide support for up to sixteen (16) lines.

Will the LVS 9000 support more than 16 IP Lines?

No. The LVS 9000 supports a maximum of 16 lines. On the SPA9000 IP PBX, there are two ports for analog devices. When used, these ports can accommodate fax machines or analog phones and do not subtract from the maximum 16 lines per LVS 9000 system.

How do I upgrade the functionality of the LVS 9000 system?

The products within the LVS 9000 that have upgradeable functionality are the SPA9000 IP PBX and the 5PA941/5PA942 IP phones. The SPA9000 can be upgraded from four to sixteen lines. The SPA941 and SPA942 IP phones can be upgraded from 2 lines to 4 lines. You may order your upgrades through Defining Technology, Inc.

How many simultaneous calls will the LVS 9000 support?

The LVS 9000 is quite versatile and flexible in the number of simultaneous calls that can be supported. There is really no restriction on the number of calls that can be supported by the LVS 9000 given its 16 line maximum limit. For calls placed between the locally installed phones your network should be able to provide good quality service. The main concern about simultaneous calls is for the available bandwidth allocated to calls originating from or terminating outside your business. A “Call Capacity” setting on the SPA9000 IP PBX limits the number of simultaneous in-bound and out-bound calls allowed to prevent from overflowing your Internet connection. It might be necessary to upgrade the level of service you currently receive from your ISP if you project the planned number of simultaneous calls will exceed your existing bandwidth.
